Preparation for the tax return
Preparation for the tax return
If you hand over the documents physically, you must always keep a copy or an original. The documents should only be printed on one side.
The tax administration only scans the front page.
Details should not be marked with a marker. It is better to put a cross or underline something. Marked data may no longer be legible after the sacn.
If we receive the documents electronically, they should be PDF and the scans must be legible. it is not recommended to take photos of the documents.
Check that the documents are in relation to the tax year.
You are welcome to contact us by email and we will send you our guidelines, which will show you what you have to declare and what may be deductible.
Organise your personal documents
If you have made a tax return in the previous year, you should have received a copy of the recorded documents with the tax return. These documents are usually also needed for the following year.
In addition, you must submit new documents on income, assets and deductions to your tax advisor.
You can check with your financial partner (e.g.) bank, insurance, ... which documents are needed for the tax return or your tax advisor can try to guide you.
In order not to create additional work, try to only enclose documents that are also needed for the tax return. Your tax advisor must always look at all the documents.
If the documents are not in English or German, we recommend that you mark assets, income or deductions.
Foreign documents: If possible, try to organize the same documents as the previous year and not a new one each year where the dates are presented differently.
